Come out and talk about local issues with Oakland Local staff, local leaders, and your neighbors. Come out this February to Urban Blend on Broadway near Jack London Square, and meet up with the Oakland Local reporting team and local leaders for a meet up and discussion.
The February news cafe will focus on how people in Oakland use social media to get the word out about causes and events--with powerful results.
Come talk about why social media is a powerful toll for connecting people around events and issues--and sharing important moments as they happen.

How does the News Cafe work?
Coffee , tea and pastries are served from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., followed by a panel discussion from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
